Quote of the Week

“The roots of education are bitter, but the fruit is sweet.”
Aristotle

Sometimes going to school can be a struggle and can be difficult to handle, but we have to remember that an education will get most of us farther in life than not having an education.

The way I interpret this quote is that all of the years that I have been in school (15 years) and all the years of schooling I have left is a lot of time, money, effort, and stress that I have to go through and let me tell you, it is rough. Through the many low and high grades, the activities, the talks with your parents, the awards won, obtaining this EDUCATION is not a joke. But after all the bitter struggle, the EDUCATION should lead us into a sweet future.

Another way to look at it is this: our life is like a structure, some people are shacks and some people are mansions and most people are in between. I want to build a mansion and in order to do that I need tools, foundational pieces, experience, and many other things. College is just one of those tools that I am using to gain experience so that my mansion can be not only built but look pretty inside too.

Take away message: I believe that everyone has the potential to achieve anything (some people might have to work harder), but I feel like as long you remember that everything happens for a reason and there is a lesson to be learned in everything that happens in our life, then you will never be bored or feel like you are wasting your time.
